Smt. Mala Viswanathan
Smt. Mala Viswanathan started learning veena from the tender age of 9 from Shri. Vellore Sreenivasan. Constantly guided by her parents Shri. V. S. Ranganathan and Smt. Visalakshi Ranganathan, she was blessed to continue her musical journey with the Veena maestro Shri. Chittibabu from whom she absorbed unique techniques, musical nuances and the passion for teaching.
Having learnt vocal music from Smt.Rukmini Mami in Mumbai, Mala Viswanathan specialised , in vocalising the kritis on the veena. Today she is an outstanding teacher, with students across the world endorsing her knowledge, distinctive teaching methods , patience and sincerity to the art. A revered devotee of the sage of Kanchi Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal, she dedicates her knowledge to the grace of her Gurus.
